The full gamut from love to hate
All these emotions fly
My feelings do not wait
Never stopped to wonder why

Kneejerk reactions
Full of vim and life
Living full throttle
Never a thought to future tolls

Something made me stop
And wonder why
What’s the meaning
To this life

It’s gobbed with good
And soaked in strife
But in the end
It all just fades away

So what real difference
Can I make
The good, the bad
For goodness’ sake

Since we all blank
What could it really mean?
I’ll be gone and so will you
So temporary, all this news

Things’ll get worse
Then they’ll calm
Sowing seeds of love
Burned by napalm

Some folks are bad
And some are great
This one gives hugs
That one spews hate

In the end we’re multitudes inside
And since it’s all a wash
I’ll go with the cheaper way to die

So somewhere along the line
I closed the doors to love
Took the great pain
Tossed it a shove

Gave up the best
To hide from the worst
Heart’s such a mess
This rodeo, it ain’t the first

Gave love the road and a single dime
To protect my heart from hurt
Now most days I pass the time
Without even putting on a shirt

All the pain it costs so much
So I stored my heart up in a hutch
I can talk about it and put it on display
But I never let it come out and play

If all just passes
To sweet by and by
Then I’ll just up-end some glasses
I’ve found a cheaper way to die

Born with a clock
Round our necks
Every lived joy
A written check

So out I’ve lost
On the best in life
But I’ve also tossed
Aside the strife

Settling in for a
Sad but contented ride
Is much easier than
Clawing on to pride

All those feels come at such a cost
I’ve found a cheaper way to die

Begin at birth
To a starting gun
The best we can do
Is run run run

But that hurts my head
And these feet, hon
Tryin’ to tread oil
Well it ain’t no fun

Now I hardly
Ever even cry
Because I’ve found
Cheaper ways to die

So I’m livin’ life
On the discount rack
Give just a bit
And get little back

My oh my
Time it really flies
This is a cheaper way to die

I could pay my 10 tickets
For one quick ride
But just watching others is almost as good
And a much cheaper way to die

I’ve turned into a sleeper
So much horror seen by these peepers
The uphill climb keeps gettin’ steeper
